She started her studies in Vedanta at 20 with Swami Parthasarathy at the Vedanta Academy. Later she began teaching and organizing seminars and lecture series. With a quest to understand the traditional teaching tradition of the Vedanta along with the learning of Sanskrit, the language of the Vedas; she decided to pursue further studies in Vedanta traditionally with a guru.
Along with her husband, she studied at the Arsha Vignana Gurukulam under the guidance of Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati, a link in a long unbroken tradition, from Adi Shankara to the present day. Along with the knowledge of the scriptures and the teaching methodology she has gained the tools to understand Sanskrit grammar through the Panini rules.
In 2007, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati has entrusted Shribanta and Niloofer Giri with a Vedanta and Yoga Retreat Centre at Amboli Ghat at the southern border of Maharashtra. Under Swami Dayananda Educational Trust, the Amboli Ashram conducts regular retreats and workshops on Vedanta, Yoga, Sanskrit and meditation.
She continues the teaching of Vedanta in a traditional manner in regular sessions at Mumbai, Pune and conducts retreats along with her husband at the Vedanta Centre at Amboli. She also travels abroad and addresses groups on invitation.
